Captain America

Parker has loved Captain America for awhile.  A neighbor brought over this costume yesterday for Parker to borrow for Halloween this year (hooray! Costumes are so expensive!).  Parker was thrilled.  He immediately put it on and spent a long time admiring himself in the bathroom mirror whispering, "Hi, I'm Captain America," to himself.
Here he is "flexing" - he loved the muscles the costume gives him.  He can't wait for Halloween!

Not Being Held

Cameron prefers to be snuggled in a blanket and held.  (Who can blame him?)  Right before this picture, I even got my daily smile.  But unwrapped and propped up, he stopped being happy...
...and started making all sorts of weird faces, grunting, and otherwise expressing his disapproval.

Finally he flipped me off.  So picture time was over!!

Parker the Lorax

Every morning Parker asks if it's a preschool day.  He goes three days a week, and when the answer is, "Yes," he tells me, "I love preschool!"  It is very cute to walk him across the street and have him wave goodbye to Mommy and Cameron. Today he came home with this Lorax mustache and a cotton candy "tree" in a cupcake.  I just thought it was cute how much fun he has at preschool, so I begged him to pose for a picture before he dismantled his treat.  (He ate the frosting in one bite!)

1 Month Old

I still haven't figured out the whole baby-age thing - was he 1 month old at 4 weeks, or today on the 20th?  I'm going to assume we count by the 20th, and so today my baby is 1 month old!  Every other night he seems to get a good stretch of sleep in, so every other day I've been feeling pretty good and getting housework done.  Today I even got around to baking cookies.  Yesterday I barely showered.  So it goes.
Loved the cranky face for a picture.  Cameron is filling out a bit; there is more heft to him when I pick him up.  This is nice because, well, it means he's eating!
Parker held him for a long time today.  "He likes my Hulk shirt!" he kept telling me.

Toy Time

Here's some foreshadowing for us - when Cameron is awake, both kids love to run and get toys for him.  But while Kenzie was showing Cameron his stuffed bear, Parker was busy hoarding the rest of the toys!  Kenzie, ever the mother hen, kept scolding Parker, "Those are for Cameron!!"  Cameron, for his part, just kicked his feet a few times and then lost interest.  For now I think it's funny.

Bear Bottom

Cameron looks a lot like his siblings.  Depending on the expression on his face, I find myself thinking, "Wow, it's Parker!  It's Kenzie!"  (Or even, his eyelids are just like Allie's).  We really do have one mold for kids, I guess!  Whatever works!
Here is why we call this outfit the Bear Bottom outfit, and they've all worn it...

Here's Kenzie, Sept. 2005.  Not wearing the outfit in this one, but there's the hat at least.

And here's Parker, Jul. 2008.  How did he avoid the hat?  I don't remember, but anyways, you get the idea.  Also, I am slowly starting to leave the house (mostly to grocery shop or carpool so far), but maybe someday I will have an exciting post again.

10 Years!

It has now been exactly 10 years since I told Chris I liked him.  (And I'm still jokingly mad I didn't play hard-to-get.  I wasn't usually the forward one!) I re-read some old journal entries from 2002, my sophomore year at BYU.  It was funny to remember that there was once a time I was so nervous to walk home from campus with my future husband that I stopped in a bathroom first to check my hair and eat several tic-tacs.
I still really like him, even if he doesn't always get the benefit of seeing me with combed hair and minty fresh breath nowadays! (That will not be pictured, for everyone's benefit). Anyways, most of what I wrote in my journal is way too embarrassingly goofy to share, but I did laugh at this:

Sept. 25, 2002 "...He asked if I wanted to go to some music concert tonight, and of course I didn't, but since I could see him I agreed.  I met him around 7:30, and we wasted an hour and a half at this cello concert.  It wasn't the most exciting thing ever, but I did have fun just being with Geeb..."   Now that's true love right there!!
