Provo City Center Temple

Today we were able to visit the Provo City Center Temple's open house.  It was so neat to see how it had been changed from the tabernacle Chris's graduation was held in.  (They had a giant poster at the end that you could take a picture next to, so that is what this picture is from).  It was beautiful to see, and the kids were all very interested.  Cameron walked through on his own and was sad to leave.  Parker said he wants to get married there, which I thought was super cute.

Cameron's Expensive Slushie

Here's my sweet little Cam Buddy after his ear surgery on Monday.
Over the summer, the doctor said his tubes were coming out on their own and looking fine.  One did fall out okay, but the one in his right ear did not fall out and wound up embedded.  Cameron told me he had a gummy worm in his ear, but otherwise he didn't really complain.  He's a tough kid.  I was worried he would be nervous about leaving me, but the hospital had fun toy cars for him to drive.  He happily waved goodbye and drove off with the anesthesiologist when it was time!
I posted this picture on Facebook and mentioned that Cameron was drinking his $756 root beer slushie here.   He really enjoyed it, and after he drank it and picked out which hot wheel car he wanted, we loaded up a wagon and the nurse wheeled him out.  (He asked for the car again, but settled for riding in the wagon!) I should have taken a picture of that, too.  He had a pillow propped up behind him in the wagon while drinking his slushie and holding his hot wheel car.  It looked very comfy!  He watched TV and rested most of the afternoon, but he was back to his usual busy self later!

Church History Museum

Friday the kids were off of school, so to combat cabin fever we visited the Church History Museum in downtown Salt Lake.  It was renovated and re-opened in the fall, so it was quite different from our last visit.
Here's our little pioneer chef stirring away.
Cameron doesn't nap often anymore, but he still acts like he needs a nap if we try to plan an afternoon outing!  He was a bit wiggly and wouldn't stay in the stroller.
Kenzie and Parker in front of a massive painting of Nauvoo.
Finally we wound up in the children's area.  Cameron was happy to run around and climb on something.
Kenzie and Daddy made origami doves.
Guess who was asleep before we made it back to the freeway?

The Tooth Fairy Is Busy

Here is Parker on the 10th, when he lost his first front tooth.  He rinsed his mouth out, and when water squirted from the gap in his teeth, he giggled and giggled.
Here is Parker on the 16th, after losing a bottom tooth.
Finally, here was Parker last night on the 23rd, now missing his other front tooth!
I told him it's a good thing it's not corn on the cob season!  He sure is cute without any teeth.

Grandma Susan's Visit

Grandma Susan was able to spend the week after Christmas hanging out and playing with all the new toys.  Generally speaking, the kiddos could be found in the front room playing games or cooking up something in Cameron's new kitchen.
Of course the highlights for the kids were exciting things like going to McDonald's and Chuck a Rama, but this time I did not take a picture of those adventures.
We tried to take some pictures, but Cameron would not cooperate.
 More cooking in the kitchen!
I think this was the best picture I could get of Cameron.
More playing!  Mommy and Daddy had the chance to go to the temple one day and out to see the new Star Wars movie the next.  It sure was nice to have a babysitter handy, and I don't think the kiddos even noticed that we left!
For New Years Eve, we watched a little countdown off Netflix at 11:30pm.  Parker and Cameron were riveted, so I took the picture because I thought the open jaws were amusing.  Then we toasted with a little sparkling cider and headed off to bed!  We were all tired!  Grandma Susan's flight home left today, and I had three tired, quiet, sad kids on the way back home.  (Cameron wouldn't even say goodbye because he was upset he didn't get to go, too!)  Now the holidays are officially over!
