Before and After

All ready to head out trick-or-treating!
Pure joy!  They really didn't go far because they already had so much candy between grandparents and the Trunk or Treat, but they still filled up their buckets and were elated.  Parker had everything categorized and sorted before he picked a few to eat.
 Kenzie giddy over her pile.
Unlike his big brother, Cameron did not bother with sorting (or asking permission).  He just got right to work!  Happy Halloween!

Carving Pumpkins

Saturday we carved pumpkins.  The kids are doing more and more on their own each year, but it's still a lot of parental help with the guts.
The kids got out the paint this year, too, and did "flames" and blood.  Parker was quite proud of this creation.
Cameron dictated shapes, insisted on a happy face, and helped me carve eyebrows.  He was pleased with the results.

Kenzie's finished pumpkin.  She is dressed up again because she had a Halloween party to go to with her friends.  This kiddo is growing up super fast!

Trunk or Treat

Last night was our ward's Trunk or Treat, so the kiddos got in their costumes very excitedly.  Kenzie is Robin Hood this year.  (I'm just now noticing she didn't actually put the hood on for pictures, but she does have a hooded cloak!)
Brothers all excited to be superheroes.  Cameron wanted to be Batman just like Parker, so I had hoped he wouldn't be disappointed to be Spiderman (we already had that costume in his size!).  When I got him dressed last night, however, he was so proud to be Spiderman!  He went around growling (?? not sure why Spiderman would growl) and really admired himself in the mirror.
Parker was Batman in 1st grade, and the pants were pretty long.  Now in 3rd grade he asked if he could be Batman again, and it fits him perfectly.  I was just fine with him choosing to use a costume we already had!
Even though it was raining, the kiddos had fun walking around the parking lot getting candy.  Kenzie went around with her friends (and thought she was so clever using her quiver to hold her candy).  Cameron kept asking, "Is it Halloween?"  He was very happy to hear that he also gets to get candy one more night!

Pumpkin Patch

This afternoon Cameron's preschool class went to the pumpkin patch.  Kenzie and Parker are out of school early on Fridays, so they came to pick out their pumpkins, too. Right as we got there, the wind started picking up and it started to sprinkle.

Cameron was happy while on the tractor here, but once he had to share it he sure pouted.  Then it started really raining, and he was no longer happy!
We briefly went under the cover to see the ponies and goats, and then picked out some pumpkins in record time.  There was a little maze and some slides, but Cameron was crying and Kenzie and Parker didn't want to stay outside, either.
Here's sweet Kenzers pushing the wheelbarrow with their pumpkins to the van for me, since I was carrying Cameron.  The rain had slowed again a bit by then, at least.  It stopped once we got home, too!  At least the kiddos got their pumpkins!

Cornbelly's

Tuesday we headed to Cornbelly's for our annual trip.  The kids always remember every single thing we did the year before and make sure we re-visit everything.
Kenzie and Parker doing the rat rollers.  Cameron didn't want to do this and played pumpkin checkers with me instead.  Then they went down the giant slide and jumped on the air pillow for a while.
When Daddy met up with us, we headed to the corn maze.  It was a lousy year for corn, so the maze was pretty pathetic this year!  The corn was all so short!  We didn't spend too long, just long enough to let the kids take turns picking paths.
Parker caught me trying to take a picture of him watching the mechanical chickens sing.  Every year he stops and his mouth hangs open.  He is completely transfixed by the animatronic chickens.  He was so mesmerized that we ate our dinner at the benches so he could watch the show twice.
The boys covering Kenzie in corn kernels at Corn Beach.

Parker must have asked 50 times if we were going to the Duck Races.  He gets so into it.  Parker and Kenzie had their ducks really going back and forth.
I thought this was sweet.  I didn't know what they were talking about, but Chris told me later that Cameron was saying how much he didn't want to leave to go home!  (Cameron fell asleep on the drive home, and since it was only 7:20 I called to the back seat, "Cameron, don't fall asleep yet!"  He responded back, "I need to!"  That's the sign of a successful evening!)

Fall Break

The kiddos had Thursday and Friday off of school, so we did our best to do a few things.  Friday we had our last picnic of the season at the park.
Cameron helping Daddy fish at Grandma & Grandpa's on Saturday.
My favorite people in a boat.  (I have a tendency to overturn boats when exiting, so I only get in the boats if the water is warm!)
 Parker fishing with Grandpa.
Cameron doing yoga on a rock, wearing some random hat from the garage!  What a goof.
