Heading camping! Cameron and Kenzie made the exact same face! They really laughed about that one.
Last year we had to cancel our annual camping trip since we weren't sure the car could successfully pull the trailer with its engine problems. Now that the engine has been replaced, we were able to return to the woods for a couple of days to eat and sit around in the cooler temperatures. Everyone was quite excited to watch the chipmunks and have a campfire again.
This was Cameron's victory pose after starting our fire the first night.
Parker showing me the book he had brought along - An Uncommon History of Common Things. That kid is always thinking.
Chris helped the kids make slings and Cameron flung rocks essentially from that point forward.
Hanging out (Parker's in the hammock in back). This year we brought a tent so we had two places to change clothes, and then each kid had a bed in the trailer and Chris and I had the tent. Everyone had far more elbow room this way, since the trailer beds are not even full size. It was definitely more work setting up and taking down two things, but did work better for spreading out.
Playing a game after dinner. We made sure to have tinfoil dinners, roast marshmallows, and check as many of the boxes as we could for what we had missed last year. We had nice weather and everyone stayed warm at night and enjoyed relaxing. The only disappointment was having to come back home to the aggressive heat and having to clean it all up!
